1885 WEEDEN UPRIGHT STEAM ENGINE TOY NO 1 COPPER BOILER BEAUTIFUL PATINA ANTIQUE. Up for sale is an antique steam engine toy.
The top is embossed: WEEDENS UPRIGHT ENGINE NO. The copper patina is beautiful. The glass tube is flawless.The toy comes with an antique dove tale box with sliding top. The box and toy seem to have spent there lives together and believe it to be original. I did not test this but everything looks amazing with the exception of a small catch on the steam valve. The wooden box minor damage around the lid.
The toy comes with the box, original alcohol burner heater, rubber hose, weight, steam valve, smoke stack, boiler and cast iron fly wheel engine. The cast iron is flawless and has the original paint. It would hard to find a better one. This is the only copper version I have ever seen. The photos looks like brass, but it is copper in person.
Base 4 1/8 inch diameter. The original upright engine designed at the request of Youth Companion magazine and offered as a premium for subscription or outright sale. This Engine is fitted with a throttle valve, throttle whistle and lever weight pressure valve. The oscillating cylinder exhausts through the smoke stack. Overall height will vary due to stack height.
