20" by 10" and the construct measures 16 to the top of the Ferris Wheel. It is composed of a nickel plated brass, horizontal boiler seated on a pressed steel base which is connected by nickel plated copper steam lines to quite heavy duty cylinder (mounted on the side of the pressed steel boiler stand) which turn a nickel plated die cast flywheel by means of drive shaft.
The flywheel is connected by its original steel spring belt to the drive wheel of the Ferris Wheel and when operating, turns the Ferris Wheel in a slow but steady manner. We have not tested this electric burner fired Steam Engine but it appears to be in working order. The Engine is complete and the cylinder, drive shaft and flywheel function smoothly. The Engine is in very good condition - sound and intact with the original surface finishes nearly 100% intact. The boiler is sound and intact with no damage or holes as are all of the steam lines. The Ferris Wheel, which we believe was also manufactured by Empire, has some wear to the surface paint but is physically in very good condition and works very well as designed. A very rare and wonderful, Empire Horizontal, Live Steam Engine Toy with a wonderful Empire Ferris Wheel attachment and a fantastic addition to any collection!!
