Ernst Plank upright steam engine, Cosmos model, 13 inch, lot ST-7

It is 13 inches tall to the top of the smokestack. The base is cast iron. The paint all looks original. I don't see any weld marks from repairs.

It has the EP logo plaque on the top steam valve, and the "Cosmos" model plaque on the base. I've never fired up a steam engine, so I don't know how well it works. Here's what I can observe: The water sight glass looks unbroken. The handle on the steam whistle moves, but I think it's supposed to have a wood handle coming off it the water valve/faucet below that does not turn.

If you turn the big flywheel all the shafts go up and down on th front, and the side shafts that drive the water pump also move freely. The 4 oil cups on the front all have a little oil residue in them That big black counter weight on the side with the water vale moves freely.

The handle on the water vale above the pump moves freely. The burner is very cool looking - don't know if it's original. There's a number cast into the underside of the base, looks like 160. If you're interested in vintage steam, over the next few weeks I'll be listing some more steam engines horizontal Doll's, some Wilesco's, and a lot of Bing, Plank, and other steam accessories. Please see my other auctions for vintage Marklin cannon, Heyde metal animal figures and nippes, Vienna Bronze figures, steam toys and accessories, other vintage toys, and out of print books on vintage toys, graphic sci fi novels, and natural history.

States for New York that's 8% - yikes! I use lots of bubble wrap and peanuts and good boxes. In a group of multiple pieces each item is wrapped individually. I use a loupe to examine the toys while I'm listing them and I try and mention the significant condition issues I see. I leave feedback so please do the same.
