This engine was built in Brandenberg, Germany by an industrial mechanic/trainee employed with ZF. ZF is a global leader in driveline and chassis technology, as well as (after a 2015 acquisition) in active and passive safety technology. This is a lovely, robust, yet basically built engine.
A very interesting point is the separate eccentrics for the separate inlet and outlet valves on this single acting engine.
