Josef Falk Steam Engine Early 20th Century
This engine was made by Joseph Falk in Germany. He started his own company in 1895.

Produced many steam engines, including some spectacular large overtypes. Falk bought out Schoenner's steam engine line in 1912.

After WW1, Falk became closely allied with Bing, producing a few steam engines with the combination JF/BW label. This engine is a hard to find vintage circa 1911. The base is cast iron and measures 4-3/4 square. The tank is 2-1/2 in diameter and 4-1/2 tall. The flywheel has a slight imperfection and measures 3 in diameter. The cylinder has a stroke of 3/8 and has a compound valve rather than a simple oscillating valve. Nice smooth action of the flywheel.

The view glass is missing. When the flywheel rotates is drive a set of simulated centrifugal speed governor. The pressure is adjusted by means of a two position weight. There is a gauge that indicates the tank steam pressure. An adjustable screw controls the amount of steam to the cylinder.

The whole mechanism turns freely. The item "Josef Falk Steam Engine Early 20th Century" is in sale since Tuesday, April 12, 2016. This item is in the category "Toys & Hobbies\Vintage & Antique Toys\Other Vintage & Antique Toys". The seller is "cebman2014" and is located in Silver Spring, Maryland.
