Rare Antique Weeden No. 32 Vintage Horizontal Steam Engine Toy
15 1/4 high, Length 8 inches, Width 4 ¼ inches. Balance wheel diameter 4 ¼ inches. The brass boiler, with WEEDEN TRADE MARK logo, is enclosed in a blued steel jacket to prevent loss of heat by radiation and vented with a series of two or four cut out Stars and a series of small round holes near the base. The boiler frame is of iron with edges and all raised letters of polished nickel fitted with a swing door. The boiler trimmings are a safety-valve, whistle and water sight glass. All steam and water pipes are of brass and all elbows, unions, pipes and valves are of polished nickel. The engine frame and balance wheel are iron and nickel plated.
The cylinder is made of iron and all fittings are brass. Unlike the period illustration, all known examples of this model the engine frame is attached to the end frame with screws similar to model No.
The base is of pressed steel, fitted with a large three wick burner. Bolts and other similar parts are threaded so as to permit the engine being taken apart and then put together. One end frame has 32 THE WEEDEDN EUREKA logo case within the design and the other end frame has a door with No.
Packed in a locked-corner wooden box. This engine is scarce in any condition. It has some condition issues that I was able to identify. The unit has surface corrosion but it does not have any significant rust.
It is in good condition as far as I can tell. The fuel tray is intact! I have not tested this unit although when my husband bought the unit the paperwork states that it had been tested on compressed air.
