Toy steam engine workshop working drive shaft with grinders and saw bench
Very rare opportunity to get a fully working gantry, a great piece of machinery to attach to your stationary steam engine. The parts are made of iron/steel and are vintage - but date unknown. As I said, they all work perfectly and simply need an engine to provide the power to drive them. I have linked them up with ordinary string just to check all are working but they would look better with sewn circular brown shoelaces or thin leather strips. This is the ultimate big boy's toy.
The world's awash with miniature steam engines but for some reason very few are harnessed to working accessories. They are too good to be homemade but I can find no makers mark. There may be one underneath the accesories. The machinery is on a wooden board and there used to be a steam engine attached to it once. It may have been created as an instructional piece or as an engineer's apprentice piece. Pulleys and drive shafts are in good order... The gantry is 14 inches tall from the base of the wooden board to the top of the drive pulley.The wooden board is 17.5 inches by 9.5 inches.
