Unusual Antique 1860s Handmade American Overtype Tin & Brass Live Steam Engine! This is an amazing chance for collectors, enthusiasts and museums to obtain unique artifacts. Please, take a look at my other listings. I think that every item has a history and it is a matter of time for somebody to discover it. This is a very early and quite unique example of a toy that was actually a functional piece of machinery running on steam.
It could be one of the earliest steam engine toys made in America. Each part in this model was made by hand. So far I have not attempted any restoration or cleaning work because the model was displayed i my museum project. The overtype engine and a boiler sit on the burner box that could be removed. Notice that the engine and a boiler have many unusual decorative elements made of brass and tin featuring only in early models of that period. Dimensions: Length=11", Width=4 1/2", Height=12 1/2", Flywheel= 5 1/4". Please, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or you need any additional information.
