Vintage Horizontal Wilesco D-8 live steam engine, grey base
This is a vintage, Horizontal Wilesco D-8 steam engine, grey base. It is in great operational condition.
I tested it and it ran great. The new whistle and original safety valve both work fine.
It has a Wilesco fuel tray with it as well. It also has the original smoke stack. I cleaned and resealed the sight glass.
To get you started, I tossed in a bottle of steam cylinder oil and an eight ounce /250ml incremented fill bottle. I also added a partial pack of Hexamine fuel tablets. It is mounted on a hand crafted Florida Cyprus plague. I used existing holes to mount it with stainless steel screws.Please view all the pictures. What you see, is what you get. In order to expedite your order I go to the post office as soon as it opens. Since they are pre-packed, I cannot combine engines.
The post office has lost or destroyed three of my items since February causing me considerable loss. This comes across as a scam to me. I retired a few years ago and have always enjoyed working in my shop.I have been intrigued with steam engines since I was very young. One of the things on my bucket list was to learn how to operate a metal lathe and a mill. When I retired these two things came together for me and I have been refurbishing toy steam engines ever since. From the time I started till now, I have refurbished several hundred engines.
I test every engine before I sell it. I get great pleasure in bringing these guys back to life and knowing that folks are getting a good running steamer.
I was a carpenter for many years, so I make the Cyprus plaques as well. Sometimes I do well, sometimes not.
