Vintage Weeden 647 horizontal live steam engine
This is a vintage, Weeden 647 horizontal steam engine. It is in very nice condition. I bench tested it and it ran good, both forward and reverse. The Shop Built whistle and original safety valve work fine.
This one also comes with a new chord. I put new seals in the site glass and a new site glass tube. I built a new throttle screw and manifold set up too. I also made a pulley for accessories. I also tossed in a bottle of steam cylinder oil and an eight ounce/250 ml incremented filler bottle.
These older units are a little slow to warm up, but once they get there they chug rite along. Please view all the pictures. What you see is what you get. It was made in United Sates and they started making this model around 1930. Since they are pre-packed, I cannot combine engines.The post office has lost or destroyed three of my items since Christmas, causing me considerable loss. But this cannot be avoided. I retired a few years ago and have always enjoyed working in my shop. I have been intrigued with steam engines since I was very young. One of the things on my bucket list was to learn how to operate a metal lathe and a mill.
When I retired these two things came together for me and I have been refurbishing toy steam engines ever since. From the time I started till now, I have refurbished several hundred engines. I test every engine before I sell it. I get great pleasure in bringing these guys back to life and knowing that folks are getting a good running steamer. I was a carpenter for many years, so I also make the Cyprus plaques as well. Sometimes I do well sometimes not.
