Up for sale is my Weeden No. 17 and the parts engine to fix it. This engine is not in working order.
It needs the part that connects the drive piece to the actual flywheel. Ive included a parts engine to fix it. The Parts engine works if you just want to keep it and figure out another option.
The nickel plated governor is not included. You can get that from weedensteam.
I really wanted to fix this engine up but dont have the time for Steam Engines anymore. Ive put a moderate reserve on this item. 17 was first manufactured in the 1890's, it was the first engine to have a forward and reverse lever, shown in photo at right, that channeled the steam from one port to the other. Engine could be reversed while running.
It has a sheet metal base with four lead cast feet supporting it. These engines came with three styles of boilers, brass, nickel plated or blued. Weeden ceased making the No.
The engine stands 8 1/4" high and the base is 5 1/2" x 4 1/2. The item "Weeden No 17 Rare Nickel Plated Antique Steam Engine. 1890-1930 Low reserve" is in sale since Friday, February 26, 2016. This item is in the category "Toys & Hobbies\Vintage & Antique Toys\Tin\Other Vintage Tin Toys". The seller is "technicalsteam" and is located in Ballwin, Missouri.
