Antique Hot Air Stirling Gas Steam Engine Carette, Falk, Schoenner tin toy model
This is an early Falk hot air stirling engine. It's similar but different than that Carette version. This Falk engine has a high-edged (deep) water hopper with a drain cock on the side.
Another obvious difference is the oval emblem above the fire box door on this Falk that is not on Carette's version. Engine looks nice but its flywheel was replaced with a cast brass one at some point.The engine turns over nice but the power side con rod could use a new bushing. The wick in the burner looks original but might be too far down or might need replaced as it doesn't move up when you turn the wick adjustment wheel.
We've never had fuel in the engine or tried to run it. It's a clean engine & with a little work should be a really nice piece. Engine is mostly cast in iron with some steel & tin parts. It has some original paint & pin striping on it. The engine has about a 3-3/8" diameter flywheel & stands about 12" tall. Engine weighs just over 3-1/2 lbs.
