Marklin 4097(i think) live steam engine with 3392 Dynamo circa 1930s
Well loved toy, it was working wonderfully when I put it away a year ago after I demonstrated it for my grandchildren, so it still should be. I believe it is the model 4097, and the dynamo is a 3392, please examine the pictures carefully as it may not be the 4097 which I think it is. It comes with a smokestack (shown alongside in one picture), but it may not be the original smokestack as it seems to be smaller than it should be. Please note that the boiler has been repaired (soldered) on the front, and it is not an attractive job. Please see the pictures and close-ups of the repair. The dynamo and piston set-up are all original, and working perfectly. This toy can be used as is, but a collector will want it for the boiler parts, and the working dynamo set-up. The Steam Engine (Model 4097). Brass boiler 2-1/4 inches diameter. Base is 12" X 12", A chimney is included, but may not be the original. Fire door completely functional with Marklin label. Water gauge intact on front of boiler.
All rotating and reciprocating parts move freely. Generates 2.5volts/0.2amps at 4000rpm.
