Prewar Lionel Outfit No. 841W O Gauge 224 Steam Engine & Freight Car Set In Boxes
This is a Unique Outfit made in 1941. 841W was torn off the end label when some old tape was removed from the box where it was taped but the box is marked 141W' on the side because it is a spin off of the 141W set. This set comes with a No.
224 2-6-2 Steam Engine and No. 2812 Burnt Orange Gondola, No. 2654 Orange Shell Tank Car and a No. There is also a No. 167 Whistle Controller and a RCS Track and some track clips.There is no track with it. This set is in excellent+ condition with the exception of the one corner on the roof of the caboose where it was dinged at one time and some paint is missing from the corner. This is a super clean set and it is 100% original and complete.
The engine has been tested and the E-unit and headlight work and it runs and tracks great and the whistle in the tender works great and there is a light in the caboose that works. The engine is all die-cast metal and the tender has a metal base and Bake-lite plastic shell {New for 1941}. It comes with all the original paper work that is shown in the pictures below. There is a 40 page instruction book that is intact except for the cover that is loose. The set Box is very clean and solid.It comes with all the original engine and car boxes except for the gondola box that is missing. All the boxes are clean and solid. The engine box is missing one small inner flap and 4 of the flaps have been taped.
The tender box is missing the tip of one large end flap. Both the engine and tender boxes have there original cardboard inserts. The Caboose box is missing one small inner flap. The tank car box is complete except for a very small piece of the insert flap that is missing. There is a small UTC Lockon box that is missing 2 flaps from one end and the No. 167 Controller box is missing 2 small inner flaps and the large flap is loose at one end and the RCS Track box is taped closed at one end and it is missing one small inner flap and the tip of the large flap at one end.
