Vertical Model Steam Engine Live Steam
This double acting Vertical Steam Engine model has a bore of 16mm diameter and stroke of 16mm. The overall height is 130mm and the flywheel has a diameter of 45mm. The cylinder and valve chest are machined from bronze castings (sand cast), the standard and valve rod are from gunmetal (sand cast). The Cylinder caps, valve chest cover and flywheel are machined from brass stock. The crank shaft, con rod, piston and valve rod are steel.
The bearings are brass and the main bearings fitted with oil cups. The engine base is machined from aluminium stock.
Valve system is slide or "D" valve type. The engine is tight but runs on 10psi air.
Being sand cast the cylinder and standard have a rougher surface than investment castings, see pictures. Buyers risk if not insured.
