Vintage Horizontal Fleischmann 122-2 live steam engine (refurbished)
This is a vintage, Horizontal Fleischmann 122-2 steam engine (refurbished). I made a brass smoke stack for it. It is in great operational condition. I tested it and it ran great.
It has the original whistle and the original safety valve and they both work fine. It has the original brass overflow plug. It is mounted on a hand crafted Florida Cyprus plague. I used existing holes to mount it with stainless steel screws.
I made a burner tray for it from a Jensen tray. I repainted the boiler house and the base. Please view all the pictures. What you see is what you get. To get you started, I tossed in a bottle of steam cylinder oil and an eight ounce /250ml incremented fill bottle. I also added a bag of Hexamine fuel tablets. In order to expedite your order I go to the post office as soon as it opens the following day. Since they are pre-packed, I cannot combine engines.Note; Sometimes cypress will get a warp to it as it dries. I dry my lumber in a rack for several months, but this is not always enough. When it changes climates from the high humidity of Florida to an area that is prone to have low humidity it can exacerbate this condition. I always position my engine or accessory on the top of the crown, so it should stay level on the intended surface. This seldom happens, but I wanted you to know it is a possibility.
