Vintage Horizontal Fleischmann 122-4 live steam engine
This is a vintage, Horizontal Fleischmann 122-4 steam engine. This is one of Fleischmanns larger machines as you can see from the pictures and the dimensions at the bottom of the page. It is double acting with reverse. It is a strong running engine. I made a new smoke stack for it. This model has a very nice governor as well. I installed a new drive band on it. It also has a drain valve and a brass filler plug. It is in excellent operational condition. I tested it and it ran great, the original whistle and original safety valve both work fine. I cleaned and resealed the sight glass. It is mounted on a hand crafted Florida Cyprus plague. I used existing holes to mount it with stainless steel screws. I included a 250ml incremented fill bottle. I also included a partial box of Esbit fuel and a bottle of steam engine oil. I was able to find a copy of some Fleischmanns operating instructions that are included. I also made a new burner tray for it from a block of aluminum. With the instructions, is some other info I gathered from the web. Please view all the pictures. What you see is what you get.
In order to expedite your order I go to the post office as soon as it opens. Since they are pre-packed, I cannot combine engines. The post office has lost or destroyed three of my items since February causing me considerable loss. This comes across as a scam to me.
I retired a few years ago and have always enjoyed working in my shop. I have been intrigued with steam engines since I was very young. One of the things on my bucket list was to learn how to operate a metal lathe and a mill. When I retired these two things came together for me and I have been refurbishing toy steam engines ever since. From the time I started till now, I have refurbished several hundred engines. I test every engine before I sell it. I get great pleasure in bringing these guys back to life and knowing that folks are getting a good running steamer.I was a carpenter for many years, so I also make the Cyprus plaques as well.
