Vintage Horizontal Wilesco D5 live steam engine with box
This is a vintage, Horizontal, Wilesco D5 steam engine with box. It is in good operational and aesthetic condition.
I tested it and it ran great. The new safety valve and original whistle both work fine.
It has the original smoke stack too. It appears to have had little use. The box is a little rough. I included an 8oz/250ml incremented fill bottle.
I also included a bag hexamine fuel tablets and a bottle of steam cylinder oil. It is mounted on a hand crafted Florida Cyprus plague. I used existing holes and stainless steel screws to mount it.
Please view all the pictures. What you see is what you get. In order to expedite your order I go to the post office as soon as it opens.Since they are pre-packed, I cannot combine engines. I can combine small accessories. The post office has lost or destroyed three of my items causing me considerable loss. This comes across as a scam to me. I retired a few years ago and have always enjoyed working in my shop.
I have been intrigued with steam engines since I was very young. One of the things on my bucket list was to learn how to operate a metal lathe and a mill. When I retired these two things came together for me and I have been refurbishing toy steam engines ever since. From the time I started till now, I have refurbished over seven hundred engines.
I test every engine before I sell it. If it does not run right it stays on the work bench until it does. I get great pleasure in bringing these guys back to life and knowing that folks are getting a good running steamer.
I was a carpenter for many years, so I make the Cypress plaques as well. I hand rub each plaque with Minwax so it will repel water.
