Vintage, Horizontal, Wilesco D-202 electrically heated, live steam engine early
This is a vintage, Horizontal, Wilesco D-202 electrically heated, live steam engine. (This is the electric version of the D-20)The D-202 engine is a great example of Wilescos great engineering.
It is double acting reversible. This engine has six lubrication points for the moving parts.
It also has a large oil port for the cylinder and valve system. It has a working governor.
It also has a working throttle valve and exhaust port. It has 20mm and 9mm pulleys on the drive shaft. There is a large 100mm/3.9 flywheel.
The piston is 13mm/0.5 with a 16mm/0.63stroke. The boiler is 165mm/6.5 long and 65mm/2.56 across. It has a drain valve, safety valve, filler plug and pressure gauge (may not be accurate). I cleaned the site glass and resealed it.
I also cleaned the inside of the boiler. I made the Brass fill plug and the smoke stack. It is a great running engine with plenty of power to run your accessories.
To get you started I added a 250ml/8oz. Fill bottle and a bottle of steam cylinder oil. It is mounted on a cypress plaque. Please view all the pictures.
What you see, is what you get. In order to expedite your order I go to the post office as soon as it opens. Since they are pre-packed, I cannot combine engines.I can combine small accessories. The post office has lost or destroyed three of my items causing me considerable loss. This comes across as a scam to me. I retired a few years ago and have always enjoyed working in my shop. I have been intrigued with steam engines since I was very young.
One of the things on my bucket list was to learn how to operate a metal lathe and a mill. When I retired these two things came together for me and I have been refurbishing toy steam engines ever since. From the time I started till now, I have refurbished over seven hundred engines.
I test every engine before I sell it. If it does not run right it stays on the work bench until it does. I get great pleasure in bringing these guys back to life and knowing that folks are getting a good running steamer. I was a carpenter for many years, so I make the Cypress plaques as well.
I hand rub each plaque with Minwax so it will repel water. Sometimes I do well sometimes not.
