This particular model is hand made of brass, copper, glass fiber with balsa, ply, and mahogany woods. It is fully functional with steam whistle and is remote controlled. A live steam engine is fitted and was built by legendary British steam engineer John Maxwell Hemmens who for nearly 50 years produced world renowned museum quality miniature live steam engines for multiple applications as well as marine. The legendary steam engineer known to produce "The best in British Steam" once presented a model to Lady Diana on behalf of her then husband Prince Charles who has a fondness for Maxwell Hemmens Steam plants, locomotives and boats. The two images below, one depicting Lady Diana receiving a "THE CATON" engine locomotive from Maxwell Hemmens in 1990 and one of Prince Charles in 1989 receiving another locomotive from the mayor of Darlington. The images are from Maxwell Hemmens himself and can be viewed on his site in the galleries section. These models are for the most discerning collectors and enthusiasts, the steam plants are very rare and very well saught after world wide. This particular model stands out as even rarer as not only the boat was built by John Maxwell Hemmens, it is also fitted with the green head two cylinder plant with a " THE CATON" boiler from Maxwell Hemmens.

It is likely the only one of the Royal Oak pickets from Maxwell Hemmens with the Maxwell Hemmens Steam plant to exist as each model was made to order and usually were of the Lady Jane launch. This model of the Royal Oak was put in service in 1987 as specified on the battery pack in Maxwell Hemmens hand writing. The model comes in it's own wooden chest and a set of plans. Vintage white ball bearing servos are fitted, no receiver or radio present as the model was only briefly displayed but was never used, the boiler never fired.

This model is for those who know and want not only the best, but the unique. It's a grate opportunity and superb investment you can actually enjoy.
