It was made in Germany by Doll company in the early 1900s. Since the soldier is quite heavy, it might be made of lead, tin, or similar material. I believe Doll company made only two designs of those soldiers.
Once was with cymbals, and another with a drum. This soldier has a hair thin line or a crack around the neck.It is firm and not loose. Also, I can see a dent on the base. This toy shows signs of use, wear in paint and some oxidation, but I believe it. Can be restored very nicely with a new paint and some mechanical work. Even unrestored, it still looks fantastic. I've rotated a small flywheel and I can see that the drumsticks go up and down touching the drum and creating a sound. This rare and a beautiful piece will be a great addition to anybody who collects early soldiers or steam engine accessories! This is a great opportunity for collectors and museums to obtain interesting, rare, and one of a kind examples. All items come from the smoke-free environment.
